Love in Action: A Valentine’s Gift from Red Rocks Church

At Safe Places for Women, we know that love is more than just words—it’s action, kindness, and the willingness to show up for others. This week, we were blessed by a group of incredible volunteers from Red Rocks Church who came to our safe house to decorate for Valentine’s Day, bring sweet treats, and pour encouragement into the hearts of our residents. Their presence reminded us that love isn’t just something we receive—it’s something we give. It’s something we show in the way we serve one another, in the way we uplift those around us, and in the way we extend God’s love to those who need it most. Here at Safe Places, we are celebrating a love that runs even deeper. A love that restores, heals, and renews. A love that never fails—the love of Christ.

Today, as we celebrate Valentine’s Day,  we hold fast to the truth that the greatest love story ever told is the one written by our Savior. In Him, these women find safety. In Him, they find restoration. And in Him, they find a love that cannot be shaken. Our focus isn’t just on traditional expressions of love but on the deeper, transformative love that Jesus offers. His love is one that restores, protects, and never wavers. In a world where love is often conditional, His is freely given—a love that covers every wound, every fear, and every past mistake.

We are so grateful to Red Rocks Church for helping to create an environment where that love is felt in a tangible way. The decorations, the treats, and the words of encouragement are more than just gestures; they are a reflection of the love of Christ at work in this home. And most importantly, they serve as a reminder to our residents that they are worthy of love, not just today, but every single day.

Here’s what some of our residents have shared about what they love most about Safe Places:

“I love the fact that I have safety and security at SPFW. I have a supportive community, access to caring staff, and opportunities for education. I love that I have a sense of belonging and understanding, that’s creating healing and resilience.”

“I feel loved at SPFW by the staff who actively listens and provides individualized care to make me feel valued and understood. I feel loved by celebrating milestones, no matter how big or small, showing me that I’m worth it.”

“I love the spiritual support I have received throughout my stay. Prayer session every night at my request. Devotional offered every morning at 9am. I felt loved when the president and the board of directors helped me move Into my apartment upon graduating from the program this week.”

To Red Rocks Church, and to all who continue to pour love into this home, thank you. Your kindness and service remind us that we are never alone. This Valentine’s Day, we celebrate love—the kind that heals, the kind that uplifts, and the kind that never fails.
